Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
A surprisingly refreshing mix of colors for the bedroom these days is the green and brown color trend. At first I didn’t like it. Now I think it’s marvelous. Especially the green part. It’s just so refreshing. And so relaxing at bedtime. Plus, with the brown in it, you can accessorize easily with all sorts of brown things. But again, it’s the green I like. Because you can have one shade of green in the comforter. Then you can bring all sorts of different shades of greens in the rest of the room. And green is always so calming, as a color. To me, it looks springy in the springtime. And fallish in the fall and winter. And the brown doesn’t always have to be a dark brown. The green looks nice with a lighter shade of brown, too. Also, mix it with a creme color to make the other colors really stand out. How I like it best is with color blocking. Or with bold stripe patterns. This way it just looks so fresh and new. I saw a comforter with narrow stripes on one side that reversed to really wide stripes on the other. I like that - two for one.
Don’t you just love to have all these new color choices when it comes to decorating your house? Especially the bedrooms, where we spend a LOT of time. In the bedroom I like colors that are more cool and relaxing, like yellow and gray together. To me, those are colors that are relatively new together, but tonally they make so much sense. They’re both calming when used as a medium or light, almost pastel color range. And they’re refreshing to see together. Almost zen-like, really. These are colors that should help you relax and sleep, which is what they’re supposed to do, right? A lot of inspirational designs also include some white in there, which breaks up just two colors and the look is very modern. It used to be that you didn’t see these two colors together at all. But at the moment, this is a hot combination. You start to see more unusual and interesting colors together for bedroom decor, like turquoise and brown, or pink and brown, which are also very interesting and modern together.
Ah - don’t you just love those new-fangled wrist-top computer watches? The ones that seem so modern and futuristic, that seem to do everything? The ones that cool people have that don’t just tell time anymore. In fact, my guess is that you probably won’t do much of that with this type of watch. It’s more for show (just kidding!). It’s more for the outdoors type of person. One that works as an altimeter. A weather station. A barometer. The elevation, storm alerts, elevation changes. Basically, a watch that does it all. I don’t think it connects to your email yet, but that will be the next version. If you want a watch like this, you’ll probably want to consider a watch like the Suunto Core. Or a Highgear. Or a Casio multi-function watch. The Suunto Core also has an alarm, tells you sunup and sundown, and even gives you depth readings in the water! Seriously, this is one hard-core watch for all those outdoors enthusiasts and sportsmen. Another thing I like about it? It comes in some great color choices, including some neons!
Huge question that every mother and father want to know before making that big decision to buy the best car seat. They want one that’s safe. That’s the most safe for the money. Or maybe not even that. That’s the most safe for their children. Period. That’s why you have a lot to consider when making such a huge decision. You have to make sure that it has a LATCH system to hold your child snugly in place in case of a collision. The car seat needs to stay in place and not shift around or go flying if you brake quickly. Your child has to be able to grow and the seat has to accommodate that. Can the carseat work for the whole time your child needs to be in it? Will it convert to a booster seat too? There’s a lot of thought that goes into making this decision to get the perfect car seat. That’s why I looked at the Diono line when I did my research. It seemed to have everything I want, including being able to fit into my little car. That and the fact that Diono seems to use light and best quality materials when making their car seats.
The pets kids love to play with aren’t actually real alive and living pets. They’re something else entirely. They’re toys. Toys you don’t have to feed. Or you don’t have to clean up after. I’m talking about the parents here. You are the ones that have to do all the work! It’s not your kids feeding and cleaning up after the pets. That’s why everyone loves the toy pet hamsters called Zhu Zhu pets. Because they’re toys! They talk and sing and scramble through tunnels and ride the surf board, and act silly. Yet there’s absolutely no care involved. (Except for the parents to pick up the pet hamsters so you don’t step on them!) These pets have been around for a few years. But they’re still popular with kids. In fact, more and more hamsters and their relations are being added all the time. Different colors, more attachments to the funhouse, more kung zhu hamsters, etc. And this is why everyone loves them so much. No fuss, no muss, no taking care of whatsoever. Treat yourself and your kids to a toy that’s so much easier to take care of than pets.
If there’s one thing I love, it’s a big oversize watch on a woman. Maybe because it’s so unexpected. Maybe because it’s so trendy. But something glitzy and big that sticks out under your most dressy outfits (or jeans) just tends to make an even bigger statement. Of course, there’s a time and place for the dainty ladylike watch that’s definitely a classic. But these days there’s also a place in the moment for something big and clunky. Like a mans’ watch. Just think about how big Tag Heuer is at the moment. Only because of the name. But also because it’s a big chunky watch. Women (and men) love it. So when Michael Kors came up with a whole line of chunky big watches for women, I was hooked. Like the line of chronograph watches he designed. These are not subtle little watches! These are big honking things that look big on a small wrist. And they look great… Add a little big of rose gold in there (which is so new), or a touch of white pearl, or turquoise, and women the world over will go nuts over it.
Moms have to carry too much stuff for their babies, and need a good-looking bag to carry it all in. And if they have to do that, then they might as well look well-put-together while they’re at it. These days, you can get a good-looking diaper bag that doesn’t look like one. In fact, it can look like a tote bag, or a messenger bag, that are so much in style now. There are lots of diaper bags in trendy fabrics like leopard, pink crocodile, Chanel, and more that you can use after you’re done using it as a diaper bag. Even a man wouldn’t be embarrassed about toting around some of these diaper bags. There’s even manly diaper bags that look like tool bags. So consider a designer diaper bag. Or a purple extra large diaper bag. Or something unusual and different that no one will ever know is a bag for carrying all those goodies that you need for your baby. Like the bottle, the diapers, of course, binkies, blankets, treats to eat, and more. But use it later for your books, your wallet, your ipad, even for carrying your business stuff.
There are lots of different kinds of beds for pets. And there are lots specifically made just for cats. There are pink cat beds. And leopard print cat beds. And heated cat beds. Because cats like a bed that is soft. And they like their own beds. And sometimes they want a place to hide. Someplace warm. With walls and a roof. Someplace safe where nothing will bother them. Quite often they’ll like something made out of polar fleece. It’s warm and cozy and soft. They also like something with padding. But just so you should know - not all cats like cave beds. Some of them don’t like to feel that closed in. But often if they’re not feeling well, they’ll like a cave bed to hide in. So pick out a bed just for your cat. Match it to your room decor if you want. Or get a pink one for a girl cat. Or purple. Or leopard print. This will be just one more treat that you can give to your cat. After all, they deserve to be spoiled!
Once upon a time there was a beautiful young girl who dreamed of the perfect wedding. To the perfect prince of her choice. She knew all that was easy to come by. What she was having a hard time with was finding the perfect wedding dress. For herself. But also for her best friends who would be part of the perfect wedding. You see, they were all young, had just gotten out of school, and didn’t have that much money to spend on dresses. But they wanted to look like fairy princesses. So the dilemma was - where to find affordable bridesmaids dresses? That were also cute. That perhaps they wouldn’t mind wearing again to something besides a wedding. Impossible, you say? Well, twenty years ago, this was certainly true. But these days? You can actually find bridesmaids dresses for under $50 that you won’t be embarrassed to wear again and again. Maybe the bride will let you have a vote on what you think is the perfect dress. And you can wear that same dress to the dance. On New Years Eve. To a special night out!
I think one of the best inventions ever has been the electronic charging station. It used to be that I would just throw all those devices that needed charging any old place. Then of course the next morning when I was in a rush, guess what? Of course I couldn’t find them. And then when I did - they weren’t charged! It was so frustration. And so time-consuming. So when somebody came up with this simple, yet amazingly efficient invention, I jumped right on the band wagon. I needed one of those! If anything just to keep all those electronic gadgets like the ipad, iphone, ipod, etc. all in one place. But to be able to charge them all in the same place? Genius! And it’s so neat and clean that you don’t even have to see the cords. They’re all hidden within the charging station. And they come in so many neat colors and styles and types. You can put them on your dresser top. Or hang them on the wall. There’s even funny ones and bright ones in different colors. Really - I think everybody should have at least one in every room.
