If you’re familiar with Kuala Lumpur’s popular food street, Jalan Alor, you will definitely love to check out this coffee shop with a nostalgic feel. Located just 5 minutes away from Bukit Bintang, you will see Restoran Kam Fatt right next to Alpha Genesis Hotel.

Restoran Kam Fatt has been around for more than 40 years and is very popular among the locals as well as tourist. It’s not surprising to see hungry souls flocking here for breakfast to find comfort for their stomach. You will definitely be spoiled for choices with a wide selection of delicious food to choose from for breakfast which includes fried noodles, soup noodles, porridge and rice dishes.

Whenever I visit coffee shops such as this, I will always order their coffee as its being done the traditional way. The taste of it is just so rich and full of aroma which will instantly transport you back to the past. Served in the old school cup, saucer and stirring it with the plastic spoon, what else is more nostalgic than this?

Although this coffee shop offers many smaller bites, Malaysians generally love something filling for breakfast such as this Fishball Noodle Soup served with a generous amount of fishballs, beancurd skin, bean sprouts and scallions. It’s such a simple dish but yet a comfort for the stomach.

If you’re not a fan of Fishball Noodle Soup, there’s another popular local dish which is the Sliced Chicken Hor Fun especially in Ipoh. The sensation of the hor fun in the mouth is so smooth and silky compared to those in found Singapore. This dish never fails to delight me whenever I visit Malaysia.

I wanted to visit Restoran Kam Fatt again for breakfast to try out the other breakfast items but they are close on Sunday. I’ll definitely come back to this place again for delicious and value for money food.
