I hope everyone had fun reading about my past 3 days of adventure on Royal Caribbean’s 5D4N Isles of Southeast Asia Cruise on the Legend of the Seas organised by Omy. The voting contest is still on, so please continue to vote for me! Also, don’t forget to check out Omy website for all the videos and photos taken on the cruise.

Day 4: Touring the Legend of the Seas
After a long night of sound sleep, I woke up feeling recharged from the previous day in Phuket. The Thai massage sure made me felt so good that I woke up feeling so relax. I wish I can rest a little longer on my comfortable bed but I got to head down to support Cherie at the cake decoration competition!

There she is in the center competing against the humorous Royal Caribbean staff in maroon polo tee.

With some help from the chief pastry chef (in red scarf), Cherie managed to win the contest! Here she is decorating the small servings of cake for all her loyal supporters.

This is a slice of the masterpiece by Cherie!! Very delicious chocolate cake with layers of blueberry jam and light cream topped with her very own signature, a cherry. =]

After the caking decoration contest, the Royal Caribbean cookbook written by the Executive Chef, Mr Suresh, of the Legend of the Seas. Passengers who bought the cookbook are entitled to go on an exclusive kitchen tour of Romeo & Juliet restaurant.

For all the fine dining meals we have on board, it’s located at the Romeo & Juliet restaurant. This is a great opportunity for all the bloggers to learn how the food are prepared in this tour specially organized for us.

Romeo & Juliet restaurant occupies two levels on deck 4 & 5. You can have your meals three times here daily if you like table service instead of buffet style at Windjammers Cafe.

This special table in front of the painting is the Captain’s table. Only specially selected guests are able to dine with the Captain. There will be different groups of guests dining with him every night.

The center of Romeo & Juliet. Don’t you dish to dine here as well?

Executive Chef, Mr Suresh, welcomes us into the kitchen.

Mr Suresh introducing us his chief team of kitchen staffs. There is a rank system in the kitchen and it’s marked by the colour of the scarfs worn around the neck. The lowest level are yellow, followed by blue then red. After that, they will become executive chefs after many years of experience.

All of the dishes laid out here are part of today’s menu.

There will be a standard recipe at the front of them.

No, it’s not a hungry soul who took a bite at it. The chief chef from each section of the kitchen will taste them and ensure the item they prepare taste exactly the same to those over here prepared by the executive chefs.

This man standing here is the Sous chef in-charge of all the desserts on board the cruise.

All of us feel that the desserts here are all top notch and it’s the best course of the meal. That explains why we are so addicted to the desserts!

Believe it or not, this man has super power to prepare 35 buns within 30 seconds.

I’m kidding on the part where he has super power. It’s the bun making machine next to him which is so powerful. He just have to throw in the dough and wala!

These are all the buns created by the machine, which are ready to be send for baking.

There’s a sushi chef in the kitchen taking charge of the entire Japanese sushi counter at Windjammer’s Cafe.

Don’t the sushi look so tempting?

This is an important guy as his job is to beautify the buffet line with detailed food carvings.

As for the rest of the kitchen, there are other apprentice chefs doing all the daily routine of preparing the ingredients. Look at all the huge cloves of garlic over there!

Every dish are carefully prepared with the finest ingredients to ensure that it’s not only appetizing but also pleasing to the eyes!

After looking all the food prepared by the chefs at the kitchen, it’s finally lunch time as we can’t wait to tuck in! After watching how much effort is put into preparing the food, I enjoyed the food even more!

I was so spoiled for choices with so many choices of vegetables and ingredients to choose from at the salad bar.

I just settled for smoked salmon salad with the delicious crispy papadum!

Seems like I had a fish “theme” lunch.

However, I was quite tempted to try the cheese burger which someone had ordered.

This strawberry mousse dessert with filo crust was an eye catcher ever since I spotted it in the kitchen earlier on. I simply love the desserts here and I can’t get enough of it!

After lunch, we had a guided tour by the Royal Caribbean staffs around the shops on board. The items here are tax free and it’s guaranteed cheaper than any retail shops anywhere else. They even have a price match policy on all items.

There are items for guys such as luxury watches of all different brands.

For the ladies who always love to be beautiful, there are jeweleries too!

Want to get a present for your love ones? They have it all here.

How can you not forget about liqueurs and chocolates?

There are also snacks, souvenirs and travel necessities for sale on board!

After all the shopping, it’s the exclusive bridge tour arranged for us to meet the Captain and the crew!

It’s almost a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the bridge to have an up-close experience of how is it like to be in control of a huge cruise!

We were guided by one of the crew who explained to us the different controls and systems they have. On the right is a radar system where it can detect any naval vessels on the water!

I didn’t know that every single corner of the public area are covered by CCTV which can be viewed from here!

If any minor thing goes wrong on the cruise such as fire, don’t worry, the system here will alert the crew if there’s any abnormality.

These crew work tirelessly day and night to ensure all the passengers on board reach the destination safely. They deserve a pat on their back for being so vigilant! Now, you can have a peace of mind when sailing on Royal Caribbean’s the Legend of the Seas.

There is also an outdoor steering area for manual steering and greater visibility such as when docking at a jetty.

I am looking out for Singapore where we will be disembarking the next morning. In about 15 hours time, it will be docking at Harbourfront Cruise Center, Singapore. It’s the last night on board and it will be the final dinner we will have together as a group.

I wonder how difficult will it be to say goodbye to everything I’ve been through for the past 4 days. Not only all these delicious food but also the friendship fostered, unforgettable experiences, joyous fun and laughter, I thought to myself. Slowly, time passes and I began dozing off…
