Food Review: Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor, Universal Studios Singapore

Dinner at Singapore’s very own “New York”

Last year, I visited Universal Studios Singapore (USS) on the first day of the opening of Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) and did a review on an American diner, Mel’s Drive-in.  After hearing so many people raving about Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor, I decided to visit USS again just to check out the food over here.

Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor is located within the “New York” district of USS.  It is accessible with the evening preview tickets for those who choose not to purchase the day tickets where you can get to enjoy all the rides and the full amenities of USS.

Much like any American cafeteria, Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor is a self-service restaurant.  You have to order your food over the counter and move to the cashier to make payment before heading to the seating down.  As most of you might have heard of their signature giant pizza, I decided to order something different to try out.

I had the Loui’s Lasagna ($9.30) which seems to be very popular as other people in the queue were snatching it up quickly.  The lasagne was serve on classic Italian tomato based sauce and topped with a generous serving of creamy cheese sauce.  I find that the sauces complemented the beef lasagna very well.  The pasta and the beef was nicely done and it taste good too even if it’s placed in the warmer to keep it hot.

For something simple, heart warming and kid-friendly, the Spaghetti Sausage ($9.80) will be a perfect choice.  This dish is simply prepared using al dente spaghetti, topped with tomato-based sauce, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and served alongside with a pork sausage.  The sausage will be a hit among kids and it didn’t have the strong meaty taste.  I feel that the spaghetti itself was delicious enough for me though.

The next time I visit Universal Studios Singapore, I’ll still come back to Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor as it will be fun to have a communal dining around a huge pizza with family and friends.  Loui’s also serves desserts too which I’ve not get a chance to try.  Overall, I feel that the price is reasonable for the atmosphere and quality of food.

If you have not visited Sentosa lately, this will be a great chance to walk to the sunny island via the newly launched Broadwalk linking from Vivocity.  Besides the various food & beverage outlets in USS, the rides are also a main attraction especially the recently launched Battlestar Galactica that have been highly anticipated by many thrill lovers.

What more reason do you have not to visit Sentosa? =)
