Event Coverage: BonJapan Media Outreach @ SMU

BonJapan - Japan’s One-Stop Portal Singapore

This afternoon, I was invited for a fun and light hearted media outreach event held by a local company, BonJapan.  For those who do not know about BonJapan, they have been around in Singapore for more than 2 years and they are a leading importer of Japanese merchandise.  Some of you might have seen BonJapan at various bazaars and pushcarts since February 2008.

Aaron & Nelson from BonJapan doing the presentation.  We have fluffy friends around who are sure getting more attention!

You must be wondering what kind of attractive Japanese merchandise they have?   From Japanese snacks to tidbits and toys… You name it, they have it!  If they don’t have it and you like something from Japan, they can specially import it for you.

Don’t you just wish to hug all of them home?

With all the Japanese goodies in the house, how can we not feast on it?  We were invited to try some of the snacks imported from Japan and they are genuinely made in Japan.  This I can assure you that all the consumables imported by BonJapan are safe to be eaten by everyone.  I’m sure nobody will want to pay for a Japanese product but made in China.

There are more than 15 types of products which we get to try this afternoon.  Somebody save me.  I’m totally spoiled for choices!

Irresistible colourful candies which you will be spoilt for choices!

Look at all these goodies from Japan!

Oh, there’s more to the highlight to the afternoon!  We were each treated to 1 monster candy which we can get to win prizes.  Each monster candy individual packed so each of us have to pick 1.  There will be 3 colours of monster candy in it.  If you get the crystal with a gold flake monster candy, that means you are very lucky!

Ok, someone’s got it and the person gets to win the top prize.

I opened mine and it’s a red monster candy.  That means your luck is pretty good.  I got a red monster candy!

Wait wait… that’s not all.  I must pop it into my mouth and eat it.  If it changes colour to transparent, that means my luck is pretty good after all.  However, if it changes to green, that means I’m low on luck.  Fortunately, mine changed to transparent (not in picture so not to disgust everyone with my half eaten candy) and I got the second prize.  Surprisingly, many people got the second prize too!

Renhao (left) and me (right) with Nelson the Stitch with our prizes!

…and those whose monster candy changes to green gets the third prize.  Sadly to say, those big fluffy friends sitting there are not part of the prizes.

D1 and D2 make friends.

However, the people from BonJapan cheer us up with a fridge, literally!  A fridge filled with ice cold yummy goodies was brought into the lecture hall.  It’s really our pleasure and luck as they don’t normally bring in the fridge for such events and it’s the first time doing so.  That means more delicious treat to come.  Indulge!!

D1 & D2 will love these Red Bean and Custard Cream Mini Doriyaki!

The famous Muah Chee. Everyone is eating in the background so happily.

Anyone craving for some Creme Brulee Chocolat?

If all these are not enough, here comes the main highlight of the afternoon…

These are limited edition ice-cream which is only brought in Singapore once a year!  Available in Strawberries & Cream flavour as well as Melon flavour.  It’s so delicious that I can’t wait to get more of them through BonJapan!!

Honestly speaking, all these items shown here are just the tip of the iceberg.  They will be launching their website soon at www.bonjapan.com where you can find products like tidbits, toys, figurines, tours, manga and other related products, all in a single page.  For now, stay tune to their Facebook page where you can find out more about their great giveaways with no spending required!

Free colourful pens with fragrance as giveaways! Ain’t BonJapan a nice generous bunch of people?

They do have a customer loyalty program coming up where the more you shop at their website, the more points you will be given and there are thousands of dollars of prizes to be won!  Did I mention that their grand prize will be an all expense paid return tickets to Tokyo?

Kilakkuma is waiting for you to bring her home.

What you are waiting for? Happy shopping at BonJapan!
